This appeared after my GPA was calculated:

"No English GPA will be calculated. English courses are calculated as part of your Non-Science GPA."

Will the schools I applied to know I took the English requirement? Is there no "English" portion of the AADSAS calculation? (i.e. There is a BCP, Science, Non-Science, and Cumulative.)

Thank you and sorry. 🙂

Hello Canadian
I never dealt with applications hassle, but you just said that there is non-science GPA, and they said English will be in non-science. Again, I may be ignorant in the matter, but don't you have to send your official transcript which will show that you took or didn't take English?

How did you know I was Canadian? LOL

That's what I was thinking... I had initially categorized my English courses as the "English" category through the AADSAS application and found it strange that they moved it to non-science. What would be the point of having an "English" category if I could just put my English courses in the "Non-Science" category to begin with.......:eyebrow:

Maybe I'm going crazy and looking into things too much. :zip:

I think you guys are overthinking this too much. The English courses aren't calculated to the sciences or BCP because it's not a sicence or biology/chemistry/physics course. It makes perfect sense to categorize it as non-science.

As for the English category, it's either to smooth out the processing or they still report the English courses separately to school so it'd be easier for the adcom to sift through the requirements. I might be wrong but I dont see anything out of the ordinary here.

Hi excuse me if this is the right place to ask my question but I was wondering how common is it for schools to have an English requirement?
Or can it be substituted for writing intensive classes? I graduated already from a strong liberal arts college and I really don't feel like taking English while doing a post bac pre med. Thanks!

Really varies from school to school. I'd call them to be sure.
