hey everybody, hope your AACOMAS apps are going good, but i need HELP!!

How are you people entering the course info?

EX: "ENGL 100" is "English 100" is "Freshman Composition"

Is the Course name "English" or is it "Freshman Composition" or is it both?

EX 2: I took some junior college classes like 12 years ago when I thought I was going to be a Deputy Sheriff. So if I took an Administration of Justice class, do i enter it ;

"ADJUS 3" or "Administration of Justice" or do I enter "Administration of Justice- introduction to criminal procedures"

Thanks everyone for your help on this one..i guess im just confused or exhausted or BOTH!! 😕

From what I've read on here (these boards) you need to list all courses you've taken at every institution (college level) you've attended...I might be wrong on that and if I am I'm sure someone will correct me. 🙂

Also if I understood the application instructions correctly (which I probably didn't) when you list the course it doesn't matter if it was a "freshman" class, they want to know what your status was when you took the course. If that's not what you were referring to then as far as just the name itself, I am using the names and courses as they appear on my transcripts.

Course Number: ENGL 1100
Course Name: Freshman Composition

However, you should mirror your transcript verbatim. They are going to compare your primary application to your transcript to see if they match up. The better they match, the sooner it will be processed.

Hope that helps.

thanks guys....and as embarassing as this is, i have another question...

yes i have a "withdrawn" on my transcript...so for that, do i enter it as 0.00 semester hours, or do i still list how many units that class was worth, even though i withdrew and got no credit hours for it?

enter the amount of semester hours the class was for. The AACOMAS grade will be WITHDRAWN so they will not calculate it into the GPA.

On my transcript my classes are listed like "SPN 101." So for course name I put "SPN 101." Course number didn't have an * next to it so I didn't fill that out. Is this wrong?

stupid question about classes: can a Spanish Literature class be listed as an "english" class? under the help, it says that literature classes go under English. and Foreign Language classes go under "other." well, this isn't a foreign language class, per se.

i was wondering about the same thing. i know that in the amcas application foreign language literature classes go in the same category as foreign languages (even if they are in translation), but i don't know about AACOMAS - i actually e-mailed them today to find out...

didn't have "*" next to it? What?

oops, I'm in the DO forum...my mistake. I haven't got to AACOMAS yet.

what are you guys doing in regards to classes you repeated? on the app. , the drop down menu says ("repeat 01, repeat 02, repeat 03, repeat 04, ... n), so is this information regarding how many times we repeated a particular class or is it about just counting every class repeated....

EX.... I took Organic Chemistry II and scored a B , I repeated the class and scored an A, so i list the second time i took it as "repeat 01".

Then later on my app, I repeated Calculus to make an A from a C, so for the second Calculus class i took, do I list that as "repeat 01" as well since its the first retake of that course, or do i list it as "repeat 02" because its the second class ive retaken to score better ? hmmmm.... 😕 😕
