i have been looking into applying for some 7 year dental programs. I'm not too sure realistically what my chances of getting in are. Right now i am working at a orthodontist office for the summer, and have spend a semester working there as part of a special prgram from my school. Im in grade 11 and have a 86 average. In ontario, a A is 80% or over. So I'm not too sure about what my gpa is. I also just wrote the SAT and am waiting for my mark, but i think that i will have a total score of around 1700, with a combined score of maybe 1200 for the math and critical reading scetion. I am in the top 15% of my graduating class. Realistically do I have a chance of getting into any 7 year programs?

Back in my day, we took SATs graded on a 1600 scale lol. I'm sure most if not all of the people in this forum are not familiar with what's competitive or not for the new(er) SATs or even for your stats in general as you're an international student... international highschool student at that.

Might be best to post this is the predental section and see if you can get help there. (plus theres only like 4 or so bs-dds programs in the US, so if i had to guess, id say you better have some amazing extracurriculars that show a huge interest in the field along with some killer stats becuase you will surely be competing with a lot of 4.0s)

Why not apply to a 5 year program?

I think they have 5 year programs at: Pacific, Laval, Adelaide, and UWA.
