Question about initial background check

After you match, before you're hired, they run a background check on you. I have a few big traffic violations from one day I had an emergency and was driving to the hospital and was stopped by a very mean cop who decided to put me down for a bunch of things, the case is closed and it was a few years ago. I'm still in med school but I'm worried that this will cause a problem for residency. Anyone know if they care about a few traffic violations ? do those even come up on a background check? TIA

Are they misdemeanors? If not, don't worry about them.
