I've never applied so have no idea how it works but when you send letters from Interfolio to your AADSAS application, how is the LOR hooked to the appropriate application? Just by name and other personal info or does the DENTPIN have something to do with it? Asking because I'm not too sure what the DENTPIN is and wondering when I should make one...

There is a letter of evaluation matching form (select paper evaluation in AADSAS rather than electronic) that you receive from AADSAS when you enter the letters into the application. You attach that form to Interfolio and when AADSAS receives your letters, they can be matched to your application.

Does that mean I need to mail my letters to AADSAS? Because I would prefer to do it electronically and them be uploaded within a few days rather than the wait of mailing

You either have it mailed or uploaded electronically to Interfolio which then sends it to AADSAS.

OR

You either have it mailed or uploaded electronically (most common) to AADSAS directly.

I should've worded that better but I will be electronically uploading them to interfolio but for interfolio to send them to aadsas, can that be done electronically as well?

Interfolio allows you to collect and save your letters ahead of time and simply send them when you are ready. You cannot have them uploaded directly to AADSAS until the application opens in June though most people opt for this.

BTW, you need a DENTPIN to register for the DAT and also for your AADSAS application.

Thanks for all the info but just one thing to clarify, so I know I will have my letters saved on interfolio and once AADSAS application opens, I can then send them from interfolio to AADSAS but can that be done electronically and does that also require the LOR matching form being uploaded to interfolio?

Yes, you do it electronically using the websites, you don't have to mail anything but to receive the letter matching form you have to select paper letter rather than electronic (since the direct electronic letter doesn't need a matching form since it is just uploaded directly to AADSAS using a special link that goes to your letter writers).
