hello. i'm new to this as it is my first cycle applying to dental schools. I just wanted to know the timeline of things in general. I applied to the schools on 7/12 on AADSAS. Since I mailed off the checks after, I want to say anytime in between 7/13-15 for those without secondaries. For the ones with secondaries...well I turned them in as soon as I finished but they were all done before 7/30. I'm little concerned at the moment as I have only received 1 interview from ucsf so far. I see some "recieved/under reviews" or "application complete/etc" on aadsas but some other schools I applied to doesn't even show up on there...say UCLA/NYU. Is there a better way to track what's going on with particular schools (other than the app status links like USC/UoP provides you)

does this just mean I'm not one of the first group to interview? or am I freaking about nothing? any help on what you know about certain dental school's interview schedule/process would be great. thanks in advance!

i applied to...
UoP, UCSF, UCLA, Boston, Stony Brook, NYU, USC, Tuft, Upenn, and Marquette

with aadsas, some schools are better at updating applicant status than others. it seems like a few schools don't know the aadsas portal even exists. so for those, you can call them to check on your status.

as far as a timeline goes...any application in and complete during june/july is "early". anything thereafter is "late". december 1st is the monumental date because its the first date in which a school can ofter acceptance to applicants. consequentially, december 1st splits the interviews into two periods; pre-december 1st and post-december 1st. pre-december 1st interviews are highly advantageous and typically result in a better chance of getting an acceptance. post-december 1st interviews seem to be conducted to fill waitlist positions. remember, all schools aren't on the exact same schedule. some may begin interviews and fill the class at a different pace. this is my best understanding.

i think most if not all schools are well into the interview process. there are probably only a handful of schools that still have pre-dec interviews available.

check predents.com for more info on schools, who and when they're interviewing. hope this helps 🙂
