Not another 'job market' thread por favor.

If you go to generic job search engines like indeed.com, monster.com, and simplyhired.com, type in 'dermatopathologist', 'hematopathologist' etc you get several results. However...

I've been seeing the same job listings for quite some time now...

Question: Does anybody know the reason why these listings are still up? Is it because the positions have been filled and they didn't bother to take the listing down, or because they are still looking?

I think both can be correct. Sometimes people buy ads for a certain length of time and then forget about them even after they served their purpose. Sometimes they come down when they fill.

Agreed. I remember after accepting my job offer, the job advertisement was still posted. It isn't anymore but at the same time, the job advertisement didn't disappear once the decision was made.

Hold it, what? You have a real bona fide job already? It was like yesterday you were applying to residency, did you drop out or have I really been trolling these forums for that long of a time??

Dude that was like 5 years ago. Maybe 4.

What?!
Holy Rip Van Winkle.....
yeah, the whole perspective thing as one ages is a mystery to me-seems that psychologically i'm where i was in my 20's (hopefully with a tad more wisdom and maturity) yet time seems to accelerate as i get older and into my 50's-unbelievable it's been 5 yr since i went thru the match and left clinical med behind. someone once said as one ages, each time period is, percentage wise, a smaller slice of one's life compared to when one is younger, and therefore time seems to accelerate when viewed retrospectively. guess that makes sense.

Time flies, doesn't it. I haven't posted much in the past few years...it's good to see that you've continued to "keep on keepin' on" all these years.
