Question about Med School App Schedule

I'm a rising senior.

I'm planning to take a gap year and apply med school at the end of my senior year (June 2011).

I have a question regarding my English requirement.

I still need to take 1 more quarter of English...

Would I be able to take one at a local community college after I graduate as a summer class and still apply to med school?

Do med schools require applicants to complete all pre-reqs before they apply?
If not, would my plan be ok?
Once I apply around July...when is the earliest where I expect to get some interviews (assuming everything goes well)?

With rare exceptions, med schools require completion of the prerequisites prior to matriculation. Taking the English class at a CC would be fine. You can put that intention down as "future coursework" on the Primary application.

How soon you get interview offers depends on how overall competitive your application will be at a given school.
