I have a question about moving when I go to dental school. I am still living at home with my parents while I complete my undergrad work (I'm a sophomore). How do you go about finding a roommate if you don't know anyone that will be going to the same school? I'm just clueless about that since I haven't had to worry about moving and living with someone (other than my parents) before. Thanks for your input!

Depending on the school you go to, and whether or not they have on-campus housing, some schools provide roomate-matching services. There are also websites on a lot of apartment searching websites that let you search for roomates as well...just, be careful. I think the best thing to do is just network. Once you find out what city you will be living in, and start to visit more and make contacts, you can get the word out that you're looking. Never know where a good roomate will turn up 🙂

Best wishes,

Contact the adcom of the school you will be heading to, usually they will have some good information or links on housing. Also, some will even generate a list of your potential classmates so that you may contact them so see if you may find a place together.
