Question About Multiple GRE Marks and Applying

Just a quick question on writing multiple GRE tests and applying to DPT programs. I noticed that some schools say "they take the best mark from each section". I just want to make sure I understand this right.

Let's say first exam I get a Q: 100 V: 170 and AWA: 6.0

Second exam, I get a Q: 170 V: 100 and a AWA of 2.0

Does that mean when a school looks at my GRE marks, they'll take the Q: 170 V: 170 and AWA of 6?

It depends on the school. Some schools will combine and some will not. I wish they all did!! I just contacted all the schools before I applied so I would know for sure.

Most schools I looked into only take the best total score from one test if taken more than once. Their reasoning when explaining why was along the lines of preventing people from cramming for only one section per test to get higher scores in each. Some schools do look at a combined test, however, so in those cases it's possible to apply with that hypothetical, perfect hybrid score above.

I believe all the schools I applied to took the best score that you got in one sitting. No mixing and matching of scores from previous sittings. Like above said, contact programs of interest to get their answer.
