Hey,
So last year I accepted LECOM/Bradenton and just yesterday I received an invitaton for an interview at NSUCOM, my question is should I go? I probably won't get in, and I was not sure if it was worth the trip. I live in the MD, so its pretty far.
What do you all think about NSUCOM vs LECOM/Bradenton?

Thanks

Congrats, I am jealous. How long have they had your app? I live in MD too and am having a horrible time with them getting back to me.

Thanks, I turned in my application in september. I am not sure if I should go on the interview, what do you think?

i think you should go. nsu was my first interview, and i had to come all the way down from new jersey. it's very convenient to get to - it's 5 min from the airport and 5 min from any hotel you stay at in the are. when i was there, they gave us the impression that they accept a good amount of students interviewed (granted they did well). if you got an interivew, you are academically qualified - so i dunno why you wouldn't think you'd get in. the school has really nice facilities and the people are very nice. in addition, nsu is more established than lecom-b so that's another thought to consider.

Last year you accepted LECOM-BR? Do you mean you got accepted to LECOM-BR? Well, LECOM-BR is PBL-based while NSU is SBL-based with PBL incorporated into the curriculum. I interviewed at NSU and left with a feeling that I belonged there. If you're interested in going to school in Florida, I would check out both places. I think you may get a different feel at NSU than LECOM-BR. Why do you think that you won't get accepted to NSU?

Yes, I got into LECOM/Bradenton. I think I feel like I won't get in cuz I got the interview late compared to LECOM, lol.. I dont know I am stupid like that!
I like Bradentons PBL program but I am also very scared of it in the sense of feeling as if I may realize that its more than I can handle - it sounds really fun, but will it prepare me for the boards and thats why I get second thoughts sometimes about LECOM - I don't well I accepted there invitation (NSU) to interview- I mean its FL, it will be fun just traveling around Ft. Lauderdale!

DCOM was my first interview and acceptance which was all the way back at the beginning of October. After that, I received interviews at two other schools and everyone told me to go. I was sure of DCOM, but went to the other ones to "make an educated decision." It was a waste of money! Oh well, live and learn. 🙄 😀

HOWEVER....

In your situation, I think you should go. LECOM/Bradenton is kind of different because it only offers the PBL program. While that may be fine for some people, I don't think that it is for everyone. I think that you should go to NSU to compare the two schools. I am sure that there are still some spots left for you. I know it is difficult to get to interviews, but I am sure you can work it out. I think it is a wise investment and worth your time. I don't really know much about either of the two schools because I did not apply there. But, I have only heard wonderful things about NSU. So, my answer is go, kick a$$ at your interview, enjoy yourself, compare the schools, and see what happens. If you go and hate the school or if you go and you are rejected, you have your other acceptance to fall back on. You are only out the money and time spent traveling there, which in the overall scheme of things is not too bad. You will be a doctor either way. Good luck!:luck:
