Just as a preface... I'm a dual citizen Canada/US... just finishing up my residency in IM in Canada... moving to Southern California to start a position as a hospitalist ... but it's part time.. nice salary, but of course, no benefits being part time... as I've done all of my medical training in Canada I was hoping someone might suggest how difficult (and exorbitant) it is to obtain medical coverage, HMO, etc given I won't have benefits at this position... any input would be appreciated.
