Hi SDN,

It's my first time posting here. I'm always on the pre-dental forums but I assumed that this question I had would be better answered by current dental students/graduates.

As an international student, I'm planning to attend dental school in the US -- that is, if I get in. :xf: I was just wondering what are the limitations of being able to actually practice here after graduating from school. As a foreigner, would this hinder me from getting a license here or being able to work here?

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Are you an international dentist? or a international dental student in another country?

if u r a dentist in your home country, you can get into a 2/3 yr advanced DDS program for foreign trained dentists.
Once you get your DDS, you will have to clear your state licencure requirements (Diff for each state - generally consists of passing the NERB / WERB).

Once you have a state licence, you are on-par with US citizen dentists as far as dentistry is concered.
You will need a valid Visa to work in the USA.

You can look up more on everything at the International dental forums.
