I read some where that the hospitals were gonna stop giving residents those long on call hours. Is this true? How long is a typical day for you?

Call is around 30 hours at most places I've heard about. My typical weekday when not on call is ~14 hours, but this varies by the type of patients you have, how sick they are and the other members of your team.

Many residency programs are also going to a night float system, where there is a separate team assigned to nights than those working days. Unless new legislation comes down, however, the hours will bump right up to 80 (or over) for most of the residencies.
