Question about retaking classes - please give some feedback!!!

Hey so I have a question about a course I just finished repeating. I did bad in general chem in my first year and retook it this summer/early fall. Im REALLY bad at chem this was my only low grade in university (D)...and so I re-took it to apply to Optometry. I just found out that I got a B in the class...The schools I applied to are waiting on this mark to make my application complete...

My question is, does it look bad if you get a B in a course you repeated? or do you HAVE to get an A to satisfy them? Im a little worried but honestly I feel like chem and me are long time enemies and Im happy with this mark! lol...I have to send this mark to the schools on monday..and im excited to complete my application, but also worried if its good enough.

Please give me some feedback!

One poor grade in a pre-requisite class should not really affect your admission's chances especially if you repeated the class with a "B" grade. Some schools such as SCCO will average both (your D and B grades will be averaged) of your general chem grades in their final calculation of your pre-requisite gpa. In most cases, the schools are looking to see if you have met their minimum C grade requirement for each of the pre-requisite courses that you repeated.
Obviously, to determine if you're a competitive applicant, you would need to consider other academic factors such as your overall gpa, OAT scores, etc, and non-academic factors such as extracurriculars, volunteering experience, shadowing experience, LORs.

I agree with absolute vision. There are many factors. I got a few "C" grade but I still got 5 interviews. Although grades are important, we sometimes focus too much on it.

Does anyone know if NECO averages out the repeated course or takes the new grade???

what sucks even more than being stupid, is being lazy. hopefully the adcoms understand that.
