Question about the application/supplemental app/fees

I was just getting confused thinking about this and I would appreciate your help!

I e-submitted my application last wednesday but my school hasn't sent out the committee letter to AADSAS yet so technically my application is incomplete. And I saw on the supplemental application list that some schools I applied want the processing fee at the same time I submit the app on AADSAS so I mailed in checks to schools last week. Now I checked the bank account and USC already deposited the check! I don't seem to understand this especially because they have not even received my application yet.. Are they depositing the check first so they can review my application as soon as they receive it?

Also, UPENN wants the supplemental app at the same time we e-submit AADSAS app but doesn't it take 4-6 weeks for our app to get to the school? so what is the point of sending the supplemental app before the main one gets there?

I know my questions are a bit confusing but I can't put my thoughts in words better..

i think the main thing is the schools dont want to wait for your secondary stuff, your secondary stuff needs to be waiting for them to have a look at when your application gets thru from AADSAS..

This is a bit strange. Usually schools will take forever to actually deposit your check, at least that was my experience last year. Most schools will deposit it once they receive your app.

Yes but it will most likely get there sooner


so what is the point of sending the supplemental app before the main one gets there?

So they can create a file for you and get your AADSAS app in the same file when it arrives, that way when they start reviewing applications, everything of yours will be nice and ready for them.

I get what you are saying but just take it easy. Just send the stuff in, its not like the school wont get it! The best rule of thumb is to send everything in ASAP.
