Hey Hey hey SDN,

So got another question regarding the calculator we are all given for the real DAT. I will be taking my the DAT for the first time this Saturday and just wanted to make sure if we could type in numbers or not.

Clicking on numbers individually is really annoying and I really hope that isn't the case 😛

Also, what are everyone's experiences with having a laggy calculator as some other SDNers have mentioned having?

Thanks in advance🙂

I believe many people on SDN mentioned that you cannot type in numbers using the provided calculator (Even Chad said that as well.. i Think =/)

Have fun clicking and gluck!

Its laggy, its slow, its buggy and it doesn't work with the keyboard. Don't you dare enter .01 you have to enter 0.01 and there is click lag (i.e. lag after each click!) In summary, its there but don't expect to use it every question.

If you can do 25-30 questions fairly quickly without a calculator, you'll easily be able to do the other 10-15 using the calculator almost exclusively. With enough practice you'll finish the test with almost half the time to spare (and decide not to check it again cause its at the end of the test and get a f***ing 26 because you were being too lazy >_<)

I didnt have a problem with my calculator at all and used it for most of problems. Im worried i might get a laggy one during my retake :/

My calculator was a bit laggy but not too bad, also make sure to clear the calculator after each time that you use it because it will mess up your further calculations if you don't.

Yeah another bug that I forgot to mention. Again though expect your calculator to be laggy. I am glad that at least one person above didn't have one that was laggy, but expect the worst and hope for the best. Either way you can't be disappointed or taken by surprise!

I did all my practice with no calculator, as I had heard it sucked on the real DAT. I ended up using it for things like checking decimals vs. fractions and that is about it, however I found it to be responsive and work just as well as you could expect given you can only use the mouse as an input. Just make sure to clear it out after every calculation.
