hello SDN!

I'm applying this upcoming cycle. I submitted my DAT application recently and I'm planning to take the DAT around mid-May.

As for my letters of recommendation, I have an idea of who to ask for letters but haven't talked to them yet!
Are they supposed to hand me the letters? I always thought they would have to submit them directly to the application portal (which doesn't open until June).

Also, I'm still working on my personal statement, should I have that done before I ask them for the letter?

Thanks in advance.

Ask them to write the letters now so they have plenty of time to write them. They can mail th Exeter directly to aadsas (you will give them a form to mail with the letter) or you can have aadsas email them to submit the letter electronically.

I would recommend you open up an interfolio account. Ask your recommenders to write it as soon as they can and have them send it to interfolio so you have the letters saved until you apply.

As for your recommenders, I would recommend having at least a rough draft of your personal statement. Also provide a brief resume to help them out....something that has your accomplishments, what you like to do for fun, any extra curricular activities that you're involved in. It'll add a personal feel to your LOR.
