It requires that we put in our Step 1 score.

There's also a section for the Step 2 CK score, but it's not a required field.

If someone were to leave that CK section blank (even though you have the score), would that be an issue?

I left it blank...if it isn't required, I don't put it in.

For an AMG this may be OK. For IMGs I would put it in. Since you need to be ECFMG certifiable, most programs won't look at IMG apps without complete USMLE records. Obviously they'll see your USMLE transcript so you're not going to be hiding anything from them one way or another, but they may just filter IMGs without Step 1 and 2CK scores.

Do programs look at your NRMP 'application'?

How could they?

I assumed - perhaps incorrectly - that all those pesky questions on the NRMP application were a way of verifying you are who you say you are, and that you are the same person as the one who is submitting an ERAS app.

But I don't really know if that is the case or not.

Not too worried about it either way...I take things at face value - if it is not required (like the last 4 digits of your SSN on ERAS), I leave it blank.

I assumed it was for the Charting the Outcomes info, since I don't think ERAS is sharing it anymore, but this might not be true.

I think the NRMP questions are just for data collection purposes, i.e. all of those reports that they publish. If you notice, everything they ask is the stuff that is reported in "Charting Outcomes in the Match".

I thought about it and came back to the thread to post this - I agree with you, it is for the charting outcomes. D'oh....

Strange that they "required" Step 1, and the number of experiences, etc. (IIRC), but did not require Step 2 CK - jeez, they should just be upfront and ask for it. I imagine others felt the way I did when I finally got to the NRMP registration today after weeks of sweating over ERAS, and sweating over finalizing ERAS today - I am just sick of filling in blanks and looking for any way to shorten the process for myself.

I also wonder how they can require that private and personal info anyway. That's just me, I guess - I get sick of sharing so much danged information and I tend not to do it unless it is required.

My guess would be they don't require an entry for step 2 because many people haven't taken it or perhaps aren't releasing it.

So...

If someone were to leave that CK section blank (even though you have the score), would that be an issue?
The answer to that is "no", right?

(just making sure)
