So if i turn in my primary by june 15th...when would i get secondaries by, and assuming it takes me 48 hrs to turn them around (for one school), when would i be considered complete by if i send in my LOR's with my secondaries?

Would i get secondaries sent AFTER they process my primary, or do they send everyone secondaries on the same day regardless if the primary was completely processed?

Secondaries are sent out and/or completed after your primary is completed with AACOMAS which then takes about 6-8 wks depending on how busy AACOMAS is at that time.

The earliest you'd get secondaries would be like 8/1, if you turned it in 6/15. However, it often takes a few weeks for schools to receive your primary and then send a secondary. Also, many schools aren't ready to send out secondaries until September or later. NYCOM has been November.

You'd be complete as soon as they get your money, primary, secondary, and LORs.

You won't get secondaries until AACOMAS processes and sends your primary to your schools, at the earliest. However, some schools will need more time than others to send secondaries, and sometimes they only do it once a week, for example.

You won't be able to accurately predict when you'll be complete at a given school, but these guidelines should help you keep your sanity during the fun waiting times ahead (😉). Also, I may not have fully answered a part of your question, because frankly I got lost in there somewhere! 😀

Thanks CB! You actually answered ALL my questions...so having secondaries turned around by august is considered "early?"

Yes.

And NYCOM starts sending out invites/secondaries in October. 😛

Hey Chocolate Bear, what is the earliest that you can submit your AACOMAS application? To be verified means what exactly? I'm not applying until next year, but I definitely want to apply as early as possible.

It was CCOM for me...I'm a PA resident though

Don't you just kind of want to call em up and go, "Well, then, 8 other schools didn't think they were too good for me! :wtf:'s up with that?!" 😀

You can submit around the first of May (or whenever it ends up being released next year). Then it takes about 6 weeks for them to look at all of your transcripts and compare them to your entries on the application. At the end of that, you're "verified," at which point they send your primary app to all of your schools. Then you're eligible to receive secondaries from those schools.

I thought OOS was Nov, but whatevs. Thanks for the correction. All I know is that they were one of three schools to ignore me. Boo. 😀

If Ari1584 is OOS, then yeah, it would probably be November, but generally they begin sending them out in October.

Sorry that they gave you the silent treatment; they missed out on a great doctor. And I would have loved to have you in my class! 😀

Thanks, Chocolate Bear...greatly appreciate that!

Quick question about the MCAT, does that need to be completed before you can be verified? My goal is to take it in April 2010.

Pretty sure you can be verified without an MCAT score--you just add the score after you get it. However, your score would come back right around the first day of the application, if you took it 4/2010, so you really wouldn't have to worry about it.
