question about waitlist

Hello 🙂

I just had a quick question because I saw a lot of people asking if they have been put on the waitlist at certain schools because they got passed over for an interview at this point (but not rejected)...

I always thought that you actually had to interview before being placed on a schools waitlist for acceptance. Does anyone know what's up?

From what I know, you have to get an interview first to be either accepted or waitlisted. Many applications are overlooked possibly because they don't compare well to the higher end applicants (ie. those with stellar stats), although they will certainly compare you to others in the applicant pool as the cycle continues...
