Question about work experience...

AADSAS says to put total hours which makes sense if it was a short term experience, but I was in the military for over 5 years. A lot of it is a 24 hr/day thing. Should I just put the max (9999 hrs)? Seems silly....

Yeah I thought this was crazy also... I actually looked at tax returns to figure out my exact hours, but I'm sure a ballpark is fine... and if you put 9999 and it's military I'm sure they will understand what you mean. You can discuss on interview if they have any questions.
