Hey guys, got a question for you....

Background info: Non-US IMG, caribbean school, graduated May 2013. Step 1/2CK +CS did well (high 90's) all first attempt. Applied to ERAS last Sept with incomplete app (2 lors, only step 1 complete... step 2 ck/cs scores by late nov and jan, respectively) and got 2 interviews and didn't match to either.

Question today: Would completing step 3 by September bolster my application? Although I realize I applied late and probably should have waited I thought I would still get something. I don't want to have to go through that experience of not matching again, thus am considering doing Step 3 if it makes any difference. Only thing i'm worried about is by chance getting a lower score than step 1 and 2. Thoughts? Suggestions? Anything is welcome and greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I am not looking for an H1b, just a J1. And I am applying to IM.

Don't think step 3 score is that important. A pass would be beneficial, but doesnt seem to be a huge emphasis on score. you should see more success applying this year with a complete application. Apply early and broadly. You should be ok.

Don't most programs want 3 LORs?

I agree that Step 3 isn't likely to add much. If you're applying this year with a complete application and ECF MG certification you should have more success.

yeah i think they all want 3 LOR's and that is another thing that screwed me... I actually had 2 LOR's being written so they said... slots ready and all, and they both went on vacation and uploaded them in January.
