Hearing different things from upper colleagues. Is it true that you will not get access to their 1000+ question bank and case simulations until 6 weeks before the exam.

Knowing myself, I need more than a month to study for these big exams. I am undecided between BoardsWizard and BoardBlast. I've done my research between the two. What I like about BB is the live course that they have and how the instructors walk you through cases. BW gives you immediate access to their question bank and cases.

Thank you in advance

BoardWizards is the pref of most on this site.

Just look at the historic results, which one has been around and refined quite a bit longer, and the training of the ppl making each of them. It's not a hard choice. BB might turn out to be ok also, but it's trying to be a solution to a problem already solved: board prep for podiatry (mainly, becoming familiar with CBPS format).

Board wizards is the way. We had an attending do monthly board review which entailed 10-20 questions and working through 2 cases. I think this needs to be a minimum academic session at every program. No surprises on exam day from CBPS side of things.

I don't mean this unkindly, but I've never heard of Board Blasters - except from people asking "Should I use board blasters". The questions start to feel like an an advertisement. A company this questionably known should be giving out free samples to boost their credibility.

BB did do a booth at ACFAS this year. It's just a bunch of podiatrists trying to make money off podiatrists. The most podiatry thing ever...

I used Board Wizards back in the day and it was an excellent resource to learn how to take the test. Learning to take the test is the BEST way to pass the exam. You SHOULD have the knowledge by now to pass this exam. Learning the techniques to maximize points is what guarantees you pass.

We can end it with this statement
You cant study facts for this test.
Its not factual its conceptual application of knowledge.

But you do need to know how to take the CBPS test

As much as I agree ABFAS is an imperfect exam - Written portion does actually test what you learned conceptially though the years. Minimal fact dump. Everything is a short scenario that you have to find the best answer for. If you work up a bunch of patients in residency, understand surgical principles, and why you are doing what you are doing the written portion isnt bad.

The CBPS is just knowing how to take the exam. CBPS is a computer game you have to beat.

I passed both cbps, but failed RRA didactic. I’m probably just going for ABFAS foot cert at this point though so I’m not really incentivized to study for it. I remember there are quite a few questions about tibial osteotomies and other things that pods (or ortho for that matter) rarely do.

I used BoardsBlast last year and it was LEGIT. I passed all 4 sections because of them. Board wizards did not help me the first time I took it. The lectures were so focused but you do have to prepare prior to taking the course because it doesn't spoonfeed you material and they warn you of this too. They work with you one on one and answer all of my emails. The break out rooms were the best because I was able to focus on what I didnt know. I am so grateful I took their course and never have to take another exam again.
