Hope you guys are all enjoying the big dance this year. I know I am!

I was actually wondering about the primary care provider program - do any of you that are enrolled in this find it to be worthwhile? I have no idea which area of medicine I want to end up in; interests are currently all over the map. Essentially I'd just like a little more info about the program than what the description on the admissions webpage says.

Oh hell no, I'm worse. If there ever was someone with a one-track mind, it's me. Though I have to say that ortho, ENT, g-surg, and ophtho are also cool.

But yeah, I have a clerkship right now that's primary care, and wow is it boring. So boring. If you want to spend all day ordering people nicotine patches, telling them not to eat simple carbos (type II DM), and take their drugs, try it. And yeah, there's more to primary care, but there's a hell of a lot of this. Even my preceptor says that a lot of what she does could be done by an NP.

So true. So true. I fell for it. I believed the hype. Oh, if I had only listened to my inner-voice saying "you are a cheese-eating *****."
