I am applying to both DO schools and MD schools. I do not really care which path I take; however, I have a question about how DOs are treated during an allopathic residency. Do you feel as though you are treated the same as MDs, or are chiefs and attendings biased towards their MD residents? Thanks for any input, guys.

treated the same.

The only exception is if you need certain rotations to qualify for Resolution 42 - then the chiefs will work with you to make sure you get those rotations. Otherwise, you're treated the same. No one cares if you're a DO or MD. People care if you're incompetent, lazy, late, too impulsive, lack fundamental knowledge, etc.

Through 3 months, exactly the same.

same. Except for the couple of times so far I've been asked to treat my senior's neck or sinuses.

You should care, especially if your goal is to do an ACGME residency.

To reiterate what others have said here...as long as you aren't dumb, do your work, and don't kill patients, your co-residents and chiefs will not care whether you are an American MD, DO, or FMG. At least this was my experience in residency.

what is Resolution 42?

Resolution 42 outlines the route to attaining the highest level in the church of osteopathy.

just make sure you have your E-meter.
