I am applying to SUNY Downstate for the OT program for 2011 and had a question about verification of volunteer hours. I know the school requires two letters of recommendation (either Professor or Supervisor from job, etc). They want you to use their official letter head. However, when I apply I also want them to know I completed numerous volunteer hours. The OT's I shadowed may or may not be either of my letters, so how do I go about sending the school proof that I completed these volunteer hours? It doesn't mention it anywhere on their online application. If anyone has applied before and had this situation, please let me know what you did. Thanks!

SUNY might have a form for hours verification, I didn't apply there so I don't know. But if you haven't found it another way to go is to have the places where you volunteered write on their letter head that you completed so amount of hours with which Occupational Therapist. That is what I did with my applications last year. It's nothing complicated, and ask them for lots of copies!!
