Taus, thank you very much for the excellent and detailed plan.

Looking at your Biochem recommendation, you said Kaplan's biochem is excellent. Since the biochem and molecular/genetics are on the same kaplan book, my question is is the molecular/genetics section on Kaplan are equally good, how is Kaplan compare with HY Cell and Molecular (which is what you recommended)? Is it a good ideal to replace HY Cell and Molecular with Kaplan biochem book?

Thanks a lot in advance

Obviously I'm not Taus but I'll try to help in case he doesn't get back to you soon. I used the Kaplan book on his recommendation and thought the biochem was excellent. The molecular and genetics was good as well, but I think that section of the Kaplan book has a slightly different scope than the HY book. I didn't use the HY book, but Kaplan didn't have much info on specific receptors and things of that nature. Having said that, it would probably be useful to look at HY if you can get it, but I didn't feel like it made a huge difference in my score by not having it. Between the Kaplan book and UW questions, I think I picked up most of the cell/molecular bio that I needed.

Hey...sorry I didn't respond earlier...I don't look at the Step 1 forum very often anymore.

Anyway, I agree w/ tfom08. If you can get a copy of HY Molec '99 version it may help you pick up a few more points...but it's not essential if you have the Kaplan book and a decent backround in cell and molecular
