Hey all
Attending general neurologist here. Find myself joining a private 50/50 partnership with an old colleague of mine at the end of this year/beginning of 2026. It is a mix of inpatient and outpatient neurology. Inpatient we will be splitting coverage of two very small hospitals (average 10-15 patients combined) for which we get paid a daily rate for call and also collect on billings for those patients. Some afternoons on call weeks and during off weeks will have some clinic sprinkled in there.
We are obviously going to split the practice costs down the middle but wanted some advice from those out there in a similar model. How do you guys pay yourselves? How do you keep track of collections by provider? If you take a salary how often do you take dividends or “bonuses” from the company? Maybe it all comes down to having a solid accountant. Any advice is appreciated.
