Question for those accepted to Baylor?

Hi guys. For those of you who were accepted to Baylor, what was your major? I know Baylor highly favors biology majors but I really want to major is psychology but Baylor is my dream dental school. Anyone here that wasn't a bio major accepted into Baylor? Did you have a lot of upper lever bio classes? Thanks

Mrs Pledger says they like cell, molecular, anatomy/physio, immunology, micro, histology, genetics, biochem.

From what I hear, if you ace these classes you have a good shot. It depends on many factors though. They really really emphasize volunteering experience as well.

It really depends on your GPA and DAT bud. I'd call Ms. Janet regarding this.

Make sure you take anatomy. They grilled me at my interview for not taking anatomy even thought it isn't a requirement. Also, even though you didn't ask, I interviewed at all three Texas schools and Baylor was my dream school as well...until I visited. It is definitely the worst of the three.

Will do that. I have heard a lot about the other two starting to trump Baylor in terms of facility and staff especially. Will definitely keep an open mind when it comes to applying and choosing. Do the other two look for a ton of upper levels like Baylor? Thanks

I thought it was SA that was considered the worst? Although, they are opening a new clinical building this year.

The other two are not as serious about prerequisites and your course work. And none of them are actually worse than the others because they are all cheap and you graduate either way with the same degree, a DDS. But, the facilities at Baylor were quite unimpressive. SA is building a new facility, so there's will probably be the best. Also, Baylor is just one boring, gray building in the middle of Dallas. The other two are more open and there are some nice green park areas around them. And finally, the people at Baylor were just really uptight when I went. The interviews are only 12 minutes long, so they are super rushed and the whole thing feels more like an interrogation than a conversation.

Interesting. I always hear how Baylor and Houston were the best and that SA was the place to go if you want the feel of a prison. I guess it varies per person.

All of them have their specific prerequisites. But, Baylor seemed to put a super strong focus on it. Like, the interviews were a lot more focused on academics than the other schools and even the students at Baylor were super serious. I just didn't get a good vibe, which was really disappointing because it was my #1 choice.

And yes, San Antonio does feel like a prison right now, but their new facilities are much more open apparently. So, I didn't really consider the old facility prison-feel when I visited.
