Hi guys, I don't know where to ask this, so I thought I'd try here.
I need 3 upper division bio labs at UCI.
I decided to take Biochem Lab and Physiology Lab. I need some insight for my 3rd lab.

I'd appreciate any recommendation. Thanks a lot.

unless ur a biochem/mcb concentration, i would HIGHLY recommend against M114L (unless u've already taken it.) Apart from this, Molecular Lab - M116L or Micro Lab - M118L are great options. If you want sort of an "easy" or "fun" lab i suggest taking field freshwater ecology with Bowler - E179L or something. gluck

I have not taken biochem lab yet, but was planning to take it since I thought Biochem98 was pretty easy. Is the class difficult and is it anything like the biochem class?

Wish I could take E179, but I don't meet the prereq. M118L micro is sounding appealing though, but I'm a bit hesitant because I think the professor usually in charge of discussions are now running the micro lab class due to budget cut or something.
So the professor are now:Johnson, Abbott, Jha
I'm not sure how much of an effect that will be or if it's just temporarily.

Also, I have another question actually if you don't mind answering as well. I have not started on my lab yet. I will be completing everything after Fall10, but that is only if I'm able to get into the lab classes. As you probably know, these lab classes fill up like mad; they filled up 1 full day before my enrollment window opened.

I originally planned to apply to dental school after I obtained my BS. I was wondering if it is common for people to be delayed to graduate because of this? And if so, what do they typically do? Do they just take extra bio classes for fun and wait until they are able to get in?

You should consider taking neuro, molecular, dev cell (in the summer), physio and micro.

Since UCs are in a budget crisis I highly doubt last year's micro professors to come back.

Instead of taking your labs during fall 2010, I'd highly recommend taking your labs in the summer. If you are worried about fast filling labs, ask a friend to hold a spot for you until your window opens. Ask him to enroll in the class, drop it during the webreg off hours and you snipe in (just like Ebay).

People who take an off year do a lot of different things. Stay at home and help the parents, get a job, volunteer, travel are just a few things you can do.
