Could you list your mistakes that you can remember?

I think some of the reason I and so many others freak out is all we see are people that posted mistakes then said they failed. I think a thread posting the mistakes that people made and still managed to pass would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Well I don't have my score yet but can definitely think of mistakes I made.

One guy had me so flustered by yelling at me when I came into the room that I started the physical exam without draping him. I suddenly remembered then covered him (totally awkward, but I hope he gives me credit for at least remembering).

I passed it after making more then a few mistakes. I didn't drape for the first 3 patients, didn't do a fundoscopic exam for one patient who had a migraine and another who was complaining of vertigo. Didn't do a complete neurological exam for a patient who was complaining of carpal tunnel, I did most of it, but didn't have the time to do the whole thing. I didn't do the whole recap thing for at least 2 patients. I didn't give tissue paper for a patient who was trying to cry and supposedly was depressed! I guess I didn't show a lot of compassion in that one, its really hard for me to act sympathetic when the patient is an actor! I guess those were the main things I missed, but I am sure I made more mistakes. The only part i was comfortable with was my SOAP notes, which I thought were pretty solid.

It took forever to get my score, but man I was happy that I passed it! I think what most people say is right. As long as you go to an american or carribean medical school, I think you will be pretty prepped for it. Especially since we all have to take OSCEs. And I am proof that you don't have to be perfect to pass. As long as you did an adequate job, you should be fine

i had an ear exam to do and i calmly inserted the otoscope and when i was pulling it out i left the speculum inside....happened in both ears.
also, i didnot ask an elderly male about abuse.
also, i didnot take a childbirth hx from a middle-aged female with incontinence.
sad, i know...lol. but hey, i passed!

If that is all that isn't too bad. 😳

I can't remember all of my mistakes, since I took it in August.. and I'm trying to forget the entire experience... but I distinctly remember not counseling at least 2 patients and forgetting to do all of that tactile fremitus and egophony stuff on a pneumonia patient.
