I have a question regarding extra curricular activities as they pretain to UNC's dental school. I have gone to a mom clinic and have shadowed. But other than doing good in school killing the dat obviously should I get involved in the community more so than just partcipating in the mom clinics in order to beef up my application and increase my chances of getting an interview. Just wondering i want to put the best application together since it is my top choice school so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

UNC considers academics, extracurricular, and interview when selecting applicants. So you need to be equally strong in all areas. Shadowing a few clinics will not be sufficient. Trust me, sometimes you'll think you're competing against Mother Teresa to get into UNC (or any dental school for that matter). I've been waitlisted at UNC 😕, so I may not be the guru to give advice. But, I think others would agree that you should volunteer/serve as much as you can. Go TARHEELS!!!

At UNC, the interview is HUGE. That's all I'll say. Get the credentials to get the interview, yes, but rocking the interview once you get there is crucial.

Thanks both I appreciate the input that really helps alot.
