I'm trying to decide which 3 letters of recommendation to send. The secondary says that they recommend sending letters from people who can attest to your qualifications for a career in medicine. I have 3 professor letters (2 science, one nonscience). The two science ones don't know me well and so I'm not sure how great the letters will be. I also have a letter from my work (non-science/non-medical), which will definitely talk about my personal qualifications. I'm just wondering what letters all of you sent to U of A, and if you have any opinions about which ones I should send?

applied and accepted and currently a first year here. i sent 3 letters: one from a doctor i worked as a medical assistant for, one from a professor i did research for, and one from the head of the community service organization i was a member of. no academic letters for me. i figured they only allow three and they already had my transcripts and MCAT score so they knew how my academics were, so i sent them those three so they could get an idea of what i'm like outside the classroom. just a thought.

The three I sent were: ochem prof, english prof, and physician I work with who graduated from there. I just wanted to give them the broadest look at me. I still think it is important to include a science recommendation so I'd suggest picking what you think would be the stronger of the 2 science letters and sending that with the work and non-science letter. Good luck!
