I am a Pre-Pharmacy student at Wayne State University and I am currently registered for A & P at a CC during the summer. My friend was telling me yesterday that A & P must be taken at a university for Wayne State Pharmacy School. Is this true?

well, as long as it can be transferred to wayne state as BIO 2870 (Anatomy and Physiology)

However, you DO have to take BIO 3200 (Human Physiology) at a university...

I didn't have to take this when i got in a few years back since this is part of their new admission requirement; this is what they said:

"Below is a list of courses that will fulfill BIO 3200 at other four institutions in the state of Michigan. You cannot take an equivalent course for BIO 3200 at any two-year/community college. It must be taken at a four-year university."

It's on their website: http://www.cphs.wayne.edu/program/pharmd-phd-admission.php

and there's a link of approved 4-year universities that this class can be transferred to Wayne. Hope that helps 🙂

You do not have to take A&P at a four year university. I took A&P II at a CC and it will transfer over just fine. Just make sure that you look up their equivalency guides (they have them for most colleges in the state of MI) and be sure that Wayne will accept the course from your school of choice.

PharmPrincess is right about BIO 3200 (Human Physiology) however. That one must be taken at a 4 year university. Also you MUST complete this by May of the year you are applying along with your other science courses. The only reason why the deadline was extended for 2009 applicants is because it's a newly added course and by the time most people noticed it, it was too late.
