I posted this in the 'appropriate thread' and I guess it got lost in the sea of posts, so I'm making a separate thread so that everyone can see it:

When doing UW, is there a "recommended percentage" on UW that equates to a "decent" score on the actual CK? (whatever 'decent score' means..)

I remember people used to say for the Step 1 that you should aim to get around at least a 60% on UW to get 230 (don't take my word on this, just vaguely remembering these figures).

So what percentage do people usually aim for on UW for the Step 2 CK?

There is no magic percentage for a magic score. Tons of people in that thread have posted what they scored on UWorld and what they scored on the real thing. My best advice is to flip through several pages to see what kind of performance people have had on UWorld with your target score.

You can try the Step 2 score estimator at http://medfriends.org/step2_estimator/index.htm

It will estimate based on a number of measures including UW%.

I personally found it to be remarkably accurate, but since the data is user-driven your mileage may vary.

I've found that you need to do a bit better in all of your averages in order to get the same score for step II. I personally do about 5-10% on average on step II UW given the stage of studying.
