The picture you see is the object unfolded, with the faces of the 3D object facing you.
So you fold the object away from you in order to get the correct 3D? Or you try to unfold the 3D?Probably first one.tinman831 said:The picture you see is the object unfolded, with the faces of the 3D object facing you.
Anybody have any tips on form development. I just went through a 40 question section of form development and got stumped. Only managed 21 out of 40 right.
This section is hard. It is by far the hardest of the PAT sections. Aside from more practice any other suggestions. The read the barron book and the kaplan book and it is still hard.

What kind of test did you take with 40 questions just about FORM DEVELOPMENT? 😕blankguy said:Anybody have any tips on form development. I just went through a 40 question section of form development and got stumped. Only managed 21 out of 40 right.

There are two types, ones with patterns/shadding, and blanks.
The blanks are easy, just find an irregular shape that stands out, and find the 3-d image that has that exact shape..you can usually narrow it down to the answer or at least 2 choices...than you can look for another distinct shape and repeat.
For patterns..I usually don't even fold the image in my head..I just look at the pattern and note where the pieces would logically connect. Than I go through each answer and eliminate the problems I know are wrong. It takes a little bit of time..but usually works quite well. Just like every other PAT section, the key is to practice.

Recall the shaded areas on the unfolded shape are on top so in order to still have them visible when the figure is folded you MUST for it into the page.
IF you fold it towards you all the shaded areas will end up on the inside of the shape and covered up. NOT GOOD. Instead fold away from you or into the page and then mentally rotate the figure around, this way the shaded areas will be on the outside.
hope this helps.
