Quick question to all of you residents specifically (although I would love for attendings to chime in). I only have a week for anesthesia during my surgery rotation and would love to make the most of it. What can I do to help the resident the most and let them have the time and motivation to teach me? I realize that I will get a lot more exposure when I take a 4th year elective, but I would love to get as much out of this week as I can.

Thanks!

Just be a sponge, take in as much as you can and ask stupid questions now so you don't have to when you are a 4th year actually trying to get a spot. Also, just take in the whole vibe of anesthesia and see if you will actually like it.

If you have the time, I would recommend reading Anesthesia Secrets (not the whole thing, ignore the parts on the sub specialties). I read it before and I found it made everything make much more sense.

Mostly just enjoy and ask intellegent questions.
