One of the questions under the "Background Information" section in the AADSAS app reads...

Has your education ever been interrupted or affected adversely for reasons other than deficiencies in conduct or academic performance?

I was wondering what your suggestions were on me writing about breaking my hand during the end of freshmen fall semester --> had to miss class for surgery --> take all finals with non-dominant hand --> lowest semester GPA.

Should I just forgo explaining this or is it a valid enough situation to warrant explanation?

I say go for it if your overall GPA is lower, but as an adcom I would ask why special accommodations weren't given, or if they were why they didn't help.

I think the section is generally for things like a leave of absence (death in family, hospitalization) where a student needs to drop out for a quarter. Your situation would qualify it seems, but like hawkteeth said, touch on those points.
