Question on applying for US internship from Europe

Hi,

I am from Malta and will be completing medical school in 6 months time. I would like to find a post in the US some years after graduating. Can anyone tell me what I would need for this? Is it just the USMLE's? I am assuming I would start from PGY1 if accepted.. or is there something further I need to do as an international student?

I would really appreciate any help!

If you're talking about entering a US residency program, check out the ECFMG's website for information on applying:

You're going to need to pass at least the USMLE Step 1, 2 CK and 2 CS. You'll also need to figure out your visa/green card status, and obtain letters of recommendation and probably US clinical experience.

If you do a search in the General Residency forum you'll find lots of information on this. The International forum will also be of some help.
