Does anyone know what type of questions would fall under the "experimental cell biology"? It's on the list of things covered on the biology portion of the DAT.

Thanks!

I believe this covers things like membrane potential, ion distribution...
I remember getting those types of questions.

^ thanks for the replying. But I'm still confused how membrane potential and ion distribution would be related to "experimental cell bio". I was thinking along the line of experiments? Are they talking about know about microscopes and different methods to use for bio experiments? I'm not even sure what bio experiments knowledge are we suppose to know.

Suggestions anyone pls?

It might be on the microscope use. Like which methods can you use to examine living/dead specimens? or how do you separate the components of a cell with different densities?
Another thing that comes to my mind is that they might also ask about cell placement in isotonic vs hypertonic vs hypotonic solution.

read the lab section of the cliff.. They wont ask you more than whats covered in that section.

Experimental cell biology is dealing with common practices that around found the field of cell biology this includes Immunohistochemistry, SDS PAGE, Collumn Chromatography try to google methods in experimental cell biology to get a further grasp on these topics as they could be tested on the DAT exam.....They are all laboratory based procedures disecting the cell apart and trying to separate and purify its entities.
