Does NYU require shadowing and/or volunteering? I'm pretty much set on going to NYU because i live in brooklyn and my only 'weak' part is my extracurrics. I have none 😳 . Just curious on how much they value in shadowing or volunteering so i can get started now. Thanks.

Well if you have none than how can you be sure that dentistry is right for you? At least that's what the NYU people will be thinking. You should get a little bit just so you can have something to write about in your essay and talk about at your interview. I'm from brooklyn too. I understand that you might have some trouble finding a doc to shadow. You can do what I did and volunteer in the Dental Clinic at Maimonedes hospital. It was kinda cool because there were 5 GPRs there, 4 of them NYU graduates. Oh ye and the stupid volunteer office requires you do 100hrs of volunteering before they write you a LOR 😱
