Im a junior so I will be taking a couple more sciences, which I will ace to get my science GPA up. The school i go to is on a block system. Its set up where you take one class at a time for 4 weeks, 3 hours a day, and an additional 2-3 hours a day for lab. So it can definately be overwhelming sometimes, which I think will help me in D-School because im already used to a heavy load of work. My sophmore year I was scheduled all of my chems back to back, it was absolutely overwhelming. On top of that, my uncle died of leukemia, my mom was diagnosed with a neuro disorder, my brother got into a car wreck, and my dog of 12 years died. So it was obviously the most difficult 6 months of my life. If I included these factors into my personal statement explaining the C's. Would I be given any leniency? Thanx for the help guys!

You have good grades!

Just make sure you keep them up this year and definitely explain all of your circumstances on your personal statement, but not as a sob story. Make sure you let the adcom know how these episodes in your life made you a stronger and better person.

Make sure you study for the DAT and do well, especially in the Chem. parts, since these are the subjects they will question.

Your circumstances are similar to mine, so PM me if you have more questions.

those look like good grades to me! but if you feel the need to explain, you can use your personal statement or your interview. however, i think the personal staments should point out your strenghths and accomplishments -- not your flaws and excuses (even if the excuses are valid).

speaking of which, although it's sad, a dog that died at the age of 12 is not a very good excuse, sorry 😉

Oops, just looked at main board... posted twice! Sorry for double post! Damn internet.... Thanx for the comments!
