Hi everyone,
I am a board certified pediatrician, and have a quick question on what our title is? Is it MD ? or is it MD, FAAP? Can someone please throw some light?
Thanks in advance!

FAAP - Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. If you are a member you may choose to include this in your title.

Cuthbert is correct, to clarify for those for whom this isn't obvious, the AAP and the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) are not the same organization, and therefore board certification by the ABP is not the same as membership in the professional organization, the AAP.

To ask a silly question, how does one become a fellow of the AAP, e.g. FAAP? Does one need to actually do a fellowship? Or is it some kind of internal AAP designation?

Thanks for the replies people. In the link sent by oldbearprofessor, please see the answer for "What is a fellow?"
Thats what confuses me. So if someone (like I am) is board certified by ABP, but not a member of the AAP( at present), can I add FAAP to my name?
