For those who have applied or been admitted to Touro university for DPT, how did you go along in answering the supplemental question on PTCAS?

"Describe briefly any experiences you have had since high school in which you have experienced cultures other than your own. This may include, but not be limited to, studies of other cultures, travel, living outside the United States, participation in ethnic-centered clubs or activities, or close relationships with individuals of other cultures. "

Do you guys know how in dept it should be? Like for a specific culture, do we explain about holidays, food, dressing, music, etc.. that we learned over the year? Or even length of the essay? I have already started and got about a decent paragraph. But not sure if they looking for key ideas about cultures that should be explained. Please give me your thoughts. Its greatly appreciated 🙂. Thank you!

My app is in holding pattern right now for the same reason.........trying to find an angle. Culture has many aspects, trying to avoid saying "some of my best friends are..." Good Luck.

Do not go to Touro. I chose Touro because it was the least expensive of my options and it was the biggest mistake of my life. My class started with 34 people and in our 5th semester we are down to 26. They failed almost 25% of the class out by the end of 4th semester. With 1 exception, the staff could not care less about the students. Instead of helping you to succeed they try their hardest every semester to 'weed people out'. Everything is a disorganized mess, which makes succeeding that much harder and the quality of the education in most of the classes is terrible. No one gets the clinical placements they want and the professors are constantly leaving or being fired. Honestly the program is a complete scam. Please invest in a better program, you will not regret it.

Are you talking about Touro College? They have more than one location. Touro University Nevada is a different location and different faculty. The faculty at TUN is their strongpoint from what I've heard.

I was accepted this past November to Touro University Nevada and my essay on cultural diversity just focused on the types of people I was engaged with and how I handled being in different situations. For example my high school was primarily Asain so I often was the minority and only Caucasin in my group of friends. My boyfriend of 6 years is full chinese so I learn something new on his culture every year. And I played soccer on a fully Hispanic team all through HS. I didn't go to in depth on any particular culture, part of the culture, or cultural event. Just how different interactions chaned my perspective on things. Mine was roughly 900 Characters. Personally I think it's more important on how you interact with other people not necessarily how much about their culture you know and recite. Hope this helps!
