Question on when I can apply

I currently am in my second year @ university. I have taken Gen Chem I/II. I am currently taking O.Chem I/II and Bio I/II. I want to try to finish university in 3 years, and get my BA before i go to dental school. Can I apply to dental school in my 3rd year while taking Biochem and Physics? (Assuming I take the DAT in summer of 2010). Also, I heard that the new DAT's have a biochem section in them, is this true?

It all depends on if you want to take a year off or not, many people do. If you want to start dental school right after you graduate, you need to apply the June of the year BEFORE you graduate, for most people that would be their junior year, but for you, if you're currently in your second year and want to graduate next school year, you need to apply this June.

Also, it doesn't matter if you're still taking the pre-reqs while you are applying, as long as you finish them before you start school. And I hadn't heard anything about a particular biochem section on the DAT, but I know there are a few basic biochem questions in the Bio section.

Thanks, Do I need to have taken the DAT when I apply? I wanted to study for it this coming summer, and then try for it in August or so. Is there an option to submit scores later or something?

You can apply before you've taken the DAT, what many people do is apply in June, and take the test in July.
