I have a question regarding mitral valve regurgitation due to a flail leaflet in a young patient with a pectus excavatum but no other anomalies...if the regurgitation is mild, is stability over the lifetime the rule, or is surgical intervention likely in later life? thanks so much!

is the regurgitation really 'mild' with this 'flail leaflet'? Is the leaflet partially flail, or perhaps prolapsing? I suspect the latter if the MR is mild.
