According to aacom.org, applications are open for submission May 3rd and colleges receive/process applications June 15. Does it matter whether you submit May 3rd or June 14? (In other words, is it better to submit May 3rd vs. June 14?). The reason I'm asking is that I want to submit as early as possible but I'm taking my MCAT late April-Early May...

Earlier is better, but take the time to make sure you app is solid before submitting, you don't want to send it in and then realize a grammatical error or something like that.

The biggest thing is just having your primary application complete and everything verified by June15. Some schools will organize applications based on different criteria rather than which application is first by the time they begin to review them. Also, not every school begins reviewing on that date. So just make sure you make the right selections and have everything you want before sending out your primary application.

Howver, as general rule of thumb, try to finish your whole application for a school sooner the better. For example, your primary application (AACOMAS) + secondary application (when you receive one from a specific school) + secondary app fee = complete application for ADCOMS to review your file.

So should I begin preparing my application in April and send it in on May 3rd as soon as submissions are open regardless of the fact that my MCAT score is not back? or as long as I have it everything turned in by June 15 I should be good?

If you have everything in by the June 15th you'll be fine, you could always apply to just one school to get verified if you don't have your MCAT back yet, but if you'll have your MCAT by the 15th I wouldn't worry about it.

Make sure it is strong at the get go because some schools do not allow updates so you want to be able to get an interview based on the app you submit not on an app you will update

I'm going to have all my essays and my application overall reviewed by several knowledgeable people and will submit the day of or after applications open for DO schools; however, my MCAT will come about a month after (around June 15). Is that a solid plan?
