I'm just wondering if after an interview, your entire application is reviewed again. The reason I ask is because my interview was a blind interview and I was nervous during the first half and didn't talk about everything as much as I'd liked to. I definitely calmed down into it though and it ended on a good note, but I'm hoping that my performance during the first half didn't hurt my chances of acceptance.

It wasn't a complete disaster, but I answered some of the questions by talking a little too fast and didn't elaborate on some of my past experiences in great depth. Will my entire file be reviewed during the admisisons decision and some of these other factors be taken into account, or is the interview the only thing that matters after the interview invitation has been extended?

I should also mention too that by the end as well, I was able to connect with one of the two people interviewing me as we found out we grew up in the same area (in a completely different state than the school is in) and I could tell he really enjoyed that. Hoping it left a good impression.

Thanks. Coffee love.

Usually during an AdCom meeting post interview your application is reviewed again. how much weight is put onto the interview is variable across each school so it's really hard to say how much your choppy interview skills will hurt or harm your ability to get accepted. Those types of factors and their weight are pretty much kept sealed tight by the AdCom.

^ What he said. It depends on a combination of your whole application and interview performance. Some schools put more weight on GPA and MCAT, while others put more weight on the interview. Others put more weight on how much EC's (clinical experience) you've had after you've reached a certain point on your GPA and MCAT.

Aa my school we look at the interview final only if there is discordance between interviewers. If your scores are uniformly low or uniformly high, then that will be it for the admissions committee.

Our Dean makes the final say and he looks over the interview packets One final time

would you mind elaborating a little bit more Goro? Do you mean if scores are uniformly high, that person gets accepted and uniformly low that person gets rejected and further review into other aspects of their app is only done if there is discordance?
