Hey, guys!

I submitted my application, but only three supplementals out of 17 came in right after the submission. So, my question is, do schools reject you without paying supps, or do you have to pay supps first in order to find out whether you qualify for their school or no?? A long time ago, someone wrote here that some school rejected him right away without paying for supps, so he doesn't waste his money.

Thanks in advance 🙂

It depends on the school. Some require supps to even process your AADSAS application (bit of a money grab there), others send you supps because they feel that you are a good enough candidate to warrant a second look.

I'm not aware of an outright rejection notice prior to getting a supplemental, though they may not send you a supplemental if they aren't interested in you.

I personally have never gotten a rejection without paying my supplemental - at least before the application deadline passed. Generally from what I have experienced, an application won't be considered one way or another until the supplementary fee is in ... at least for schools that have one that is not invitation-only (exception being UDM).

Also, the bulk of rejections don't usually come until at least November. Some schools reject people fast (Nova, Midwestern, maybe a couple others) and some have soft rejections (Iowa, Buffalo) before then, but most rejections won't come in until December-January.
